The European ski trip this year is going to be back to Madonna di Campiglio, Italy.

Join us in our return to Italy’s number one ski resort as well as one of the most important resorts in the Alps.  Welcome to Madonna Di Campiglio, the “pearl of the Brenta Dolomites”.  It is an elegant village nestling at an altitude of 5,000 feet in the Trentino Alps near the glaciers of Adamello and Presanella. The variety of its mountain surroundings mean that in winter it is possible to ski over countless kilometers of runs, up to an altitude of 8,000 feet and with different degrees of difficulty. What’s more, you can set out from the center of the town and return there without ever removing your skis.  Madonna Ski Area  provides 57 lifts and 150 km of ski runs, with a capacity of more than 31,000 people per hour in Madonna and the neighboring linked resorts of Folgarida and Marilleva. New since our last trip – it is now also linked with Pinzolo, Italy making it even larger.

While in Madonna, you will stay at the family-owned Hotel Milano, located in the center of Madonna Di Campiglio.  It is at the base of the World Cup Downhill run and just a short walk (seriously!) from the gondola in a charming mountain setting. The rooms are spacious with large windows, bath, hair dryer, telephone and television. The hotel has an excellent cuisine, with specially prepared dishes. Other amenities include the bar, a game room for children, sauna and solarium. The hotel is managed directly by its owners, the Somadossi family.

Our extended trip this year is to Sorrento, Italy on the Amalfi Coast!  Warm, sunny and the Amalfi Coast highway drive from Sorrento to Amalfi is spectacular.  It is on the bay of Naples and a few minutes from Pompeii and Ercolano if you want to visit the Vesuvius eruption ruins.  Or, take a hydroplane to the Islands of Capri and Ischia.  If you want, a high-speed train can get you to Rome for the day.  We will be visiting there for four nights before returning home.  The trip to Sorrento will be by high speed train from Trento, Italy to Naples.  We will have a moving party for that trip.

 

Your cost for the trip to Madonna  is $2,650.00   You will receive:

  • Round Trip air from St. Louis to Milan, Italy on British Airlines;
  • 7 nights with buffet breakfast and 4 course dinner daily in Madonna;
  • airport departure taxes and transfers.
  • 4 nights in Sorrento with breakfast
  • all transfers and hotel taxes.

Deduct $440.00 if you are traveling only to Madonna and back and not going on the extension to Sorrento.
